fREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About the gym
What is a semi-private micro gym?
It’s a small, uncrowded gym where we limit how many people can train at once. Most sessions are capped at 4 people, and 5 people between 5:00 and 7:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Most of the time you’ll have just 1-2 others in with you, and sometimes the gym all to yourself.
What equipment do you have?
We have the following;
15kg and 20kg olympic barbells, hex bar and calibrated bumper plates
Infloor olympic weightlifting platforms
2 squat racks with pull up and dip bars and 1 set of moveable squat stands
Selectrised gym machines including leg press, lat pulldown, low row, leg extension/curl, functional cable machine with various attachments
Hex dumbbells up to 45kg and kettlebells up to 32kg
3 benches including incline/decline
Jerk blocks, plyo boxes, sandbags, slam balls, TRX and back extension.
Treadmill, crosstrainer and spin bike
Will I have to wait for equipment?
No. With so few people in the gym, there are no queues and plenty of space for your routine.
Why are memberships limited to 35?
Capping memberships means there is always plenty of availability to book sessions and the gym stays uncrowded.
Is there parking ?
Yes, there is free dedicated parking spaces in addition to visitor parking.
Opening times and booking
What are your opening hours?
We’re open 5 am to 11 pm, every day of the week, including weekends and bank holidays.
How does the booking system work?
You book sessions through our app. It shows how many people are already booked in for any time slot, so you can choose a quiet time. Slots can be booked right up until the session start time.
How long can a session be?
Sessions run from 30 to 90 minutes, and you can book as many as you like as part of your membership.

Getting in
How do I get into the gym?
Once you’ve booked, you unlock the gym door using the app. You’ll also be given a pin code for the main building.
Where are you?
Unit 13, Derwent Business Centre, Clarke Street, Derby, DE1 2BU. Free parking is at the rear of the building.
Safety
Is it safe to train in an unmanned gym?
Safety is a priority. We have:
24/7 CCTV
Anti-tailgating measures
An emergency panic alarm linked to a 24-hour dedicated call centre, who can connect you to emergency services
Fall-detection wristbands
How do the wristbands work?
They’re provided for your session and do two things: you can trigger the panic alarm from anywhere in the gym, and they’ll trigger it automatically if they detect a fall.
Facilities
Do you have showers and lockers?
Yes. Lockers are inside the gym for your valuables, and showers are right next door, just off the main corridor.
Why are there no mirrors?
It’s deliberate. Training without a reflection helps you focus on how movements feel rather than how you look, which can lead to better technique and progress.
